tokyo

Lucyriver think Tokyo has the most extensive rail system but so far also the most complicated and most confusing for first - timer in using the railways, beating Hong Kong and Seoul. Lucyriver and Beautiful Blue walked 20226 steps yesterday finding stations and connections. Thanks to the lesson received, today we're making less mistakes but still we walked 27836 steps.

Roamed Tsukiji market in the morning looking for food. After that, wandered around Ueno park visiting Kaneiji temple at the end. On the way came upon exhibition of azalea bonsai.

Then, strolled to Meiji shrine witnessing a marriage parade followed by scouring Takeshita Dori street in Harajuku hoping to chance upon cosplayers. Then, ran to Shibuya to meet Hachiko before finally lost in the neon lights of Ginza.

asakusa & skytree

First coffee drink from the vending machine. Hydrangeas were dotting the streets in Asakusa, Tokyo.

Visiting Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo where people were seen praying, lighting candles and jossticks.

One interesting thing is people can draw fortune. The mikuji is drawn by shaking a metal box lightly until a stick with a number comes out. Then the fortune paper is taken from the drawer mark with that number. The mikuji is tied at the frame provided as the sign of tying the bad fortune.

Tokyo Skytree has two observation decks. The second deck requires another fee. We were at the first deck, 350 metres. Too bad that we were willing to spend more for the higher deck but alas, time and ride waits for no girls. Amazing night view but it was a cloudy day.
