DAY SEVEN
We fly with Qantas from Melbourne to Sydney.
Lyse picks us up from the airport to her home in St Peters.
We also meet Sooty for the first time.
We can't make it to the 2.30 p.m. free walking tour so we take the train to Circular Quay to see the infamous Sydney Opera House. To take the train, one can purchase single ticket or OPAL card which is valid for train, bus and ferry.
This is the view of the Harbour Bridge from the Circular Quay.
We walk along the waterfront to the Opera House.
My Fair Lady musical is playing at the moment with Julie Andrews as the director.
The view overlooking back to Circular Quay from the Opera House.
Later, we walk through the Royal Botanic Garden to reach Mrs Macquaries' chair.

Rising buildings seen from the park.
The falling umbrella tree.
This is the view of the two Sydney icons again, from Macquaries.

After that, we walk back the same route. Beautiful Blue and Lucyriver both agree that we would be walking every day if we have this garden and amazing views back home.
People crowding the Opera Bar for drinks and dinner.
Our dinner at one of the restaurants along the waterfront of Circular Quay. Barramundi with salad and pesto sauce $29.00
Kangaroo's fillet $29.00
We love this chips $8.00
Gelato at Circular Quay.
We take the train back to St Peter. This is the night view at Cahill Expressway just above Circular Quay station. There's a glass lift outside just at the side of the station to come up here. This road also leads to Harbour Bridge. Photo credit: Beautiful Blue
We stay at a studio room in St Peters.
The little front lawn of the room.
DAY EIGHT
is a morning with light drizzle. After alighting at Circular Quay, we walk towards the Rocks.
Passing by the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Chicken pie at a cafe along Argle Street.
The white lilies behind the cafe.
The cafe also serves cakes.
Later we scout around trying to find the stairs to go up Harbour Bridge. Found it!

Pedestrian walk along the bridge.
The view of Syney Opera House from Sydney Bridge. We turn back after we have reached Pylon lookout where one can opt to go up for the harbour view or to climb the bridge. Charges apply to both.
We return to Argle Street for the Friday Foodie Market at the Rocks.
Not much food is offered though.

Then, we take the train to St James station to see St. Mary Cathedral.
We walk through Hyde Park where there Archibald Fountain is.
The tower on the left is Sydney Tower. There is a glass-floored platform circling the tower if one dares to walk on.
St Mary, Gothic-style Catholic Church

Lucyriver just love churches with stained glass windows.

Check out the organ pipes up there.
Hibiscus in Hyde Park. Fancy finding our national flower here.
Out of the cathedral, we walk towards the Town Hall.
Some road constructions are going on at George Street, marring the photo taken of the hall.
Is there a phone camera out there that can fight against the sunlight?
Queen Victoria Building across the road.
After walking around the area, we return to Circular Quay.
Finally, Lucyriver remember Customs House after forgetting about it twice each time alighting at the station when it's just opposite the station.

This is the reason Lucyriver come here.
To see the mini city model underneath the glass floor.
Customs House also houses the City Library.
They have an impressive collections of books, CDS and DVDS.
An Australian White Ibis in Royal Botanic Garden.
FYI, all birds will come to you when you have food.
Yesterday, we passed the visiting hours of the Government House.
Today we miss the house free guided tour as it ends at 3.00 p.m. but we are allowed to stroll in the garden until 4.00 p.m.
The road leading to the main gate towards the house.
The Government House. More like a castle. Lucyriver read in one of the guide books stating that the same architect also designed parts of the Buckingham Palace in London.
There are quite a lot of flowers in the garden. Enjoy!

The same bluebells seen at Menzies Creek Station in Melbourne.

These blossoms in the Royal Botanic Garden look exactly like the fake plum blossoms Lucyriver used to decorate at home during Chinese New Year.

DAY NINE
is a bright sunny day.
This is the view of the Opera House and the bridge from the ferry to Manly.
Manly Beach
Looking towards Shelly Beach.
Meet Lucyriver companion today, Miss Bikey. We scale the beach until Queencliff.
Queencliff.
After bidding goodbye to Miss Bikey, Lucyriver return to the public school market seen on the way to the beach just now. It is more like a garage sale. There's another market, Manly Market but not much interesting. Lucyriver just whizz by. Nothing attractive.
Manly Market
After returning to Circular Quay, towards the Rocks Market I go, says Yoda.
Mostly are selling jewellery, souvenir and handmade stuff.
Lots of stuff to see though. Just nothing interesting to buy.
Today is really market day.
